Elie Wiesel

Hey everyone!

About two weeks ago, I went and heard Elie Wiesel speak. It was amazing! It was really interesting to hear him speak and to hear parts of his experience and survival through the Holocaust. The video they showed was very good. It showed the journey of twelve high school students who retraced Elie Wiesel’s footsteps: through his childhood and through his journey in concentration camps. I hope that I can do that one day, and retrace my grandparents footsteps as well as other Holocaust Survivors.

I had applied to be on stage with him and ask questions, but sadly didn’t make it. The other teenagers who were chosen, did a very good job and had some great questions. I had a great time and learned a lot. I am going to try and contact Elie Wiesel to see if he could help me with my project because he had said that he loves to help out with projects (similar to mine) that are making sure it never happens again.

Coming from you, that carries tumneedors weight, Barb, for (as my sister) you are part of the spirit of this book. Passion is the word, for without it, I doubt a single story, or book would probably never come to fruition. Our own family stories and relatives gave breath to Max’s and I hope you enjoy finding echoes of our past throughout. Thanks for your ongoing support and inspiration.
